It came as no surprise that the Goalkeeper of the Tournament award was handed over to Banyana Banyanas Andile Dlamini, she proved a safe pair of hands in helping them win the Womens Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday.
The Mamelodi Sundowns shot stopper says the roller-coaster ride was worth it.
Im extremely grateful to be part of this beautiful team-a team that motivates South Africans because I know for a fact that South Africans are going crazy".
"Im excited to be part of this amazing tournament it has grown humongously. And the sponsors, keep on coming and support women I am grateful for the league in South Africa, Sasol and also Hollywoodbets for creating because without their support we wouldnt be here but Im still edging corporate South Africa to come on board and support women-what more should we do for you guys to support us? said Dlamini.

Dlamini always seems to keep a cool head, and even when the home crowd during the final against hosts Morocco attempted to unsettle Banyana, she says they were inspired and kept their nerves to get the job done. Banyana beat the Atlas Lioness 2-1 to be crowned champions.
As frank as ever, Dlamini revealed she nearly fell into depression and football, particularly being a goalkeeper, saved her life.
Playing football saved my life in ways you can never ever imagine, almost fell into depression but I came back football saved me so hey young girl it is possible and please dont be afraid to be a goalkeeper, I know it can make you thin sometimes but be brave enough to stand and be you Dlamini added.
Shes also on a mission to recruit more young girls to consider being between the sticks, which is actually her nickname.
