The Glamour Boys were reportedly close to bagging the centre back ahead of the current 2022/23 season, but the deal did not go through even after Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi made it clear that The Rockets were open to selling.
According to impeccable sources, Msimango is understood to have put pen to paper on a four-year deal and set to move to Naturena from 1 July.
His focus at the moment will be the helping Galaxy consolidate their Top 8 place in the DStv Premiership having clawed their way back from being near the relegation zone especially on the back of negative reports.
The Rockets made headlines a few weeks ago that there was financial turmoil at the club following their trip from Turkey during the FIFA World Cup break – some of the players and staff were not paid salaries for three months.
It appears to have been sorted, and Galaxy’s form shows that the nightmare could very well be over…but next season they will be without their skipper.
Msimango, 25, was part of the Highlands Park squad that switched with the new ownership when Sukazi bought the club three years ago and is one of the key and senior figures, playing in every minutes of each game so far this season.
It’s likely that Chiefs also moved quickly to avoid being in a tussle for his signature at the end of the season considering Msimango was thought to be in demand.
He is the second deal Amakhosi are concluding this week following an agreement, in principle, with Cape Town City for midfielder and former youth product Mduduzi Mdantsane ahead of the next campaign.
