Harris, recently returned to action after a lengthy injury layoff, teamed up with Klaasen to down French duo Sadio Doumbia and Fabien Reboul 6-4 6-4 in just one hour and 19 minutes.
Harris made it to the second round of the men's singles draw earlier this week before going down to Marton Fucsovics in four sets but made it clear how delighted he was just to be back in action after enduring a frustrating spell on the sidelines in the latter half of 2022.
The 25-year-old seems to be forming an effective partnership with doubles specialist Klaasen, a veteran of two Grand Slam finals, having finished runner-up at the 2014 Australian Open alongside Eric Butorac, and the 2018 Wimbledon Championships with Michael Venus.
Against their French opponents on Saturday, Harris and Klaasen broke serve in the very first game of the match and never looked back from there, claiming another break in game five on the way to taking the first set, before clinching the second set via another solitary break of serve to wrap up the comfortable win.
The duo now move on to face eighth-seeded duo Marcel Granollers of Spain and Argentina's Horacio Zeballos on Monday.
