This follows Tsitsipas Italian Open semi-final defeat to eventual champion Daniel Medvedev, in a rain interupted match that saw a frustrated Tsitsipas ask his own mother Julia Apolosti to leave his box during the match.
Phillippous had joined the 24-year-old's camp as co-coach shortly after Wimbledon last July, when the Greek star was still fourth in the World Rankings.
The coach shared the news via his social media account, where he wrote "Stefanos Tsitsipas thank for the opportunity of being a part of your team. It was a great ride and experience, I'm proud of what we achieved together in the short amount of time we had. I wish you health, happiness and success for your future, on and off the court!"
The Australian coach was working together as co-coach with Apostolos Tsitsipas, Stefano's father, and seemingly had a great relationship with the pair prior to this abrupt exit.
It remains to be seen if Stefano Tsitsipas will be replacing Mark Philippousis with the French Open [Roland Garros] qualifiers having already begun, or opt to go ahead with just his father as coach for the tournament.
