Thabang Mosiako not in a hurry to find a new coach

Former South African half-marathon champion Thabang Mosiako is in no rush to find a new coach after recently parting ways with South African Coach of the Year, Mike Mbambani.

Currently representing the Nedbank Running Club, Mosiako has returned to his home province of North West, where he trains independently to maintain his fitness.

Preferring a measured approach, he plans to carefully consider his options before making any decisions about joining a new training group or working with a coach next year.

"I am still home training alone, I don't want any trauma anymore in my life. I think I'll just focus on myself at the moment, I don't know up until I get well," Mosiako said.

Mosiako shared with the national broadcaster that he currently prefers training alone after parting ways with coach Mbambani.

The split, stemming from a reported fallout, was highlighted by SABC Sport last month.

"I am training alone, I'm still training alone in Potch. I'm still recovering, in fact, I've recovered 100 percent, I've been working very hard," he added.

Mosiako has remained in isolation following the publicized fallout with Mbambani, which gained widespread attention after SABC Sport reported the story last month.

As a result, he has largely stayed out of the public eye. Recently, however, he joined Elroy Gelant and coach Pio Mpolokeng's training group for a run.

"I have been isolating myself it was not helping me. Now I get to interact with people, and maybe join some groups for my long runs like I did. I think two weeks back or three weeks back, I did my long run with Potch guys, and Elroy's group and this past Sunday I was with coach Pio doing a long run because that group was not there, they were all in Soweto. Being alone was really killing me."
