Wedson Nyirenda appointed interim head coach at Zanaco

Zanaco have announced the appointment of Wedson Nyirenda as interim head coach.

The former Chipolopolo boss replaces a coaching team of Kelvin Kaindu and consultants Emmanuel Amuneke and his assistant Emeka Amadi.

Zanaco are in 13th place on the MTN Super League following a run of poor results.

Nyirenda previously led the Bankers to the 2009 Super League title.

A club statement read: "The Board of Directors and Management of Zanaco Football Club wishes to announce that the Club has separated with the Consultant Coach Mr. Emmanuel Amuneke and the Assistant Coach Mr. Emeka Amadi with immediate effect. The Club has also separated with the Head Coach, Mr. Kelvin Kaindu.

"The Board of Directors and Management wish to thank the three Coaches for the services rendered to the Club and accordingly wish the Coaches all the best in their future endeavours.

"The Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Wedson Witson Nyirenda as Interim Head Coach for the remaining period of the current season."
