Novak Djokovic parts ways with long-time fitness coach

World number one Novak Djokovic has parted ways with fitness coach Marco Panichi after seven years.

The indomitable Serb has been shaking up his coaching team in 2024, splitting from Croatian coach Goran Ivenisevic in April after an early exit from Indian Wells in the United States.

Now, Panichi, who joined Djokovic's coaching staff in 2017, is seemingly the latest casualty. Taking to Instagram, the 24-time grand slam winner thanked the Italian for his service.

"What amazing years of collaboration we've had," wrote Djokovic.

"We reached the summit, won titles, broken records. But most of all, I have enjoyed our most 'ordinary' days of training in and out of the gym.

"(Thank you) for all the energy, effort and time you invested in making me the best possible player and person I can be. Much love."

Djokovic has featured in just two events since his loss in the Australian Open semifinals. He was knocked out in the second round at Indian Wells, then lost to Casper Ruud in three sets in the final four of the Monte-Carlo Masters.
