Nkosi has inked a contract with the team which commenced on 1 March 2024 and extends until 30 June 2025.
The dynamic winger made his Springbok debut on 9 June 2018 at age 22 against England at Ellis Park. He earned 16 caps and notably scored nine tries. His last test appearance was on 2 October 2021 against All Blacks in Australia.
Nkosi joined the Bulls from the Sharks in 2022 but off-field battles with mental health hampered his progress, while stiff competition from the likes of current Bok wingers Kurt-Lee Arendse and Canan Moodie have limited his playing time.
Still only 28 years old, Nkosi is hoping to make a fresh start in Bloemfontein, having previously played alongside Cheetahs Director of Rugby Frans Steyn during the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
"The Toyota Cheetahs eagerly anticipate Sbu Nkosi's impact on the field. He is warmly welcomed as he dons the orange jersey for the upcoming challenges," the team said in a press release.
The Cheetahs will play in a warm-up match against the Griquas on Saturday, 9 March, in Jacobsdal. Their SA Cup campaign kicks off on Friday, 22 March, against Boland at Toyota Stadium, while their European Challenge Cup campaign continues on 6 April when they face Clermont Auvergne in a last-16 clash.
