The Bulls booked their place in the United Rugby Championship (URC) semi-finals with a 30-23 victory over Benetton at Loftus Versfeld.

Beaten finalists in 2022, the South African side scored after just 25 seconds through the first of two Kurt-Lee Arendse tries in the first-half.

Flyhalf Johan Goosen added both conversion to go with a well-struck penalty as the Bulls took a 17-8 lead at halftime after Onisi Ratave went over for five-pointer for the visitors.

Springbok wing Arendse was forced to came off in the 30th minute following a head-on-head collision with Benetton inside centre Malakai Fekitoa, and was permanently substituted by Sergeal Petersen after a failed HIA.

The Italian outfit closed the lead to just two points after the interval courtesy of a Tomas Albornoz touchdown and five points from the boot of Rhyno Smith.

The Bulls though opened up another gap on the scoreboard with less than 20 minutes remaining when a Goosen break up field led to a good finish from outside centre David Kriel.

The flyhalf converted the try and then added another penalty but Benetton clawed back again when Fekitoa barged over from close range.

The Bulls though dug deep and another Goosen penalty and some steadfast defence earned the hosts a place in the tournament's last four.
