Lions' ill-discipline proves costly against Stade Francais in Paris

The Lions crashed to a 17-7 defeat against Stade Francais in European Challenge Cup game played in Paris on Saturday.

The South Africans took the lead in the 14th minute when eighth man Emmanuel Tshituka dived over for a try that was converted by flyhalf Gianni Lombard converted.

The Lions though were beset by ill-discipline as they received three yellow cards during the second half which cost them dearly.

Lombard, JP Smith and Henco van Wyk all received their marching orders from the officials as the hosts hot back in the second half to score 17 unanswered points.

Joris Segonds and Arthur Coville both struck two penalties while replacement hooker Laurent Panis went over for the home team's only try in the 60th minute.

The Lions were unable to create any chances in the second half and eventually had to fall to another loss in the tournament.
