Lions secure contract extension for stalwart Francke Horn

Bullocking eighthman Franke Horn is the latest Lions star to re-sign with the Johannesburg franchise.

The former Springbok U20 star signed with the Lions in 2020 and has made 61 appearances for them since, cementing his place as one of the first names on the teamsheet every week. In fact, the tireless Horne has played every single minute of the Lions' last 12 fixtures.

The Lions took to social media to announce Horne's contract extension to 2028.

"Representing this franchise is a massive honour for me," said the 25-year-old.

"I'm excited to experience what the future has in store as I believe we can achieve big things as a team and, most importantly bring joy to Joburg once more."

The signing comes after a swathe of recent contract extensions, which included popular prop Asenathi Asenathi Ntlabakanye.
