The flyhalf is the latest big-name signed by the Japan League One club, who has managed to scoop the likes of two-time World Cup winner Springbok Cheslin Kolbe and All Black captain Sam Cane.
Sanchez had been plying his trade in France since 2018 with Stade Francais and Brive before this week's announcement.
"I am very excited to start a new experience at Tokyo Sungoliath, a club with a glorious history and excellence," said Sanchez, as per the Tokyo Suntory Sungoliath website.
"I think playing in League One will be a great challenge given the great team and players we have. Japan is a country that I have great respect for. It has a fascinating culture and the people are very kind and respectful. I am eager to start playing and contribute my experience and energy to the team.
"Japan is a country I admire a lot. It will be a great experience for our entire family."
Meanwhile, Tokyo Suntory Sungoliath gave a short update on Wallaby Sean McMahon and potential signing Gareth Anscombe.
"Due to his condition, Sean McMahon was not registered as a player before the start of the season, and Gareth Anscombe's Category C registration was cancelled due to his condition," continued the clubs' statement.
