Rassie Erasmus surprises South Africans with Christmas day get-together

Springbok head coach Rassie Erasmus invited South Africans to a Christmas day gathering in Cape Town, encouraging them to join him for a walk along Bloubergstrand.

Sharing a picture of his bulldog Frank, who appeared to be carrying some extra weight while sitting on a treadmill, Erasmus suggested the pooch was trying to send him a message, as he extended an invite to any South Africans interested in joining him for a bit of early-morning exercise on the beach front.

"Frank is trying to tell me something. If there's anyone keen in Bloubergstrand from Wednesday 06h00 in front of Doodles we go for a fast walk (not run) we walk 3km out and 3 back! If you keen see you there! Maybe let me know in the comments! Lekka."

Many accepted his offer and joined the Bok coach for the Christmas day walk. Afterwards, Erasmus shared pictures and videos from the morning, thanking those who attended for making the event so enjoyable.

"Was really lekka!! Thanks for all to make it so casual and fun! Merry Christmas," he added.

Since taking over in 2018, Erasmus has been widely praised for his ability to bring South Africans together and foster a sense of community both on and off the field, and it seems he's still as committed to the cause as ever.
