The match statistics painted a challenging picture for the Sharks, who had just 44% possession and 46% territory. Despite facing a Bulls team that looked to dominate through their forwards, the visitors showed remarkable defensive organization and efficiency. They made significantly more tackles, beat 19 defenders compared to the Bulls' nine, and retained possession from seven kicks—while the Bulls managed none.
"I'm lost for words, Sharks-Bulls games are always a spectacle, and all credit to the boys for pulling it off," Tshituka said. "This victory means a lot to the boys. It's an honour to wear the Sharks jersey, and the boys showed that in their performance today."
A defining moment in the game came when the Sharks were reduced to 13 men but managed to prevent the Bulls from scoring during that period. Tshituka expressed his pride in the team's ability to withstand the pressure.
"I admit it was a tough time, but the important thing for us was to keep cool heads. You can't control everything that happens in a game, and unfortunately, a lot of things weren't going our way, but we just pulled together as a group, got everyone on the same page."
The Bulls' dominance at the scrum put the Sharks under considerable pressure, with a series of penalties going against them. However, a crucial scrum penalty won by the visitors in the second half proved to be a turning point.
"That was everything for us," Tshituka said. "We still needed to close out the game, and that scrum penalty was a turning point for us. It gave the boys a lot of energy, gave the pack a huge boost, and we managed to close out the game the way we wanted to."
The Sharks' ability to secure a four-try bonus-point victory despite facing significant adversity showcased their determination and pride in the jersey.
"This result was a blessing. Bulls-Sharks games are always massive, and we're thrilled to come out on top again."
