With Fernando da Cruz dropping a bombshell and leaving the Soweto giants to take up a job with the Morocco FA, the club had to then move swiftly to help Nabi find a replacement as soon as possible.

Da Cruz was the first of the new technical team to arrive in SA to help lay the foundation while Nabi was still tied up with his old club, AS FAR in Morocco, but he did not stick around for too long.

Nabi himself had told the public broadcaster in his post-match interview following their 2-1 win over Marumo Gallants in the Betway Premiership that there was simply too much work to be done and just one assistant coach wasn’t enough.

Khalil Ben Youssef is the second in charge at the moment for Chiefs, but with Kaze expected to arrive in the country in the coming days Nabi will be a relieved man having spent the last few weeks hoping to fill the void left by Da Cruz.

Kaze is familiar with Nabi and his philosophy with the two having worked together at Young African in the Tanzanian Premier League.

Nabi won two league titles with Yanga before moving to Morocco to coach AS FAR, at the time when he was expected to in fact take over the reins at Chiefs.

It’s believed Kaze will also help a big deal in the communication front at Naturena given that his English is much more polished than Nabi’s, who is making great strides too, but continues to use a translator for press conferences and match day interviews since his appointment.

Kaze could take over some of those duties, SABC Sport has learnt.
