First half goals by Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana and Edmilson Dove was enough for Amakhosi to register their seventh win 14 league games this season.
It was Arrows that fashioned the first effort on target as early as the sixth minute but Ryan Moon saw his header brilliantly saved by visiting captain Itumeleng Khune.
After the early scare Chiefs settled and took control of proceedings and then went in front in the 14th minute when Bimenyimana received a pass from Keagan Dolly and neatly turned his defender before applying the finish.
It was the lanky Burundi striker's seventh goal in the current league campaign as he moved to the top of the scoring charts.
The goal certainly gave Amakhosi more impetus to take the game to their opponents and they looked the more likely to add to their tally in the first half.
All the pressure eventually paid off seven minutes before the halftime break when the home team were scrappy in clearing a corner and Edmilson pounced to put the ball in the back of the net.
Abafana Bes'thende needed a jolt from the coaching staff at the interval and it seemed like they received it as they came back from the dressing room with renewed purpose.
The first minute of the second half saw Khune having to tip a curling Pule Mmodi shot over the cross-bar with the veteran shot-stopper also producing saves from Siyabonga Khumalo and Knox Mutizwa.
The hosts were knocking on the door but they could not break it down as Nduduzo Sibiya pulled his effort wide of Khune's goal with 20 minutes remaining.
Chiefs then had a glorious chance for a third goal in the 76th minute when Mduduzi Shabalala was through one-on-one with Arrows keeper Sifiso Mlungwana but the shot-stopper stayed upright and made a fine save.
The home side's day went from bad to worse in injury time when substitute Siyabonga Khumalo was shown a second yellow card and sent off for a clumsy tackle.
It mattered little though as Amakhosi remain in the top four of the standings after getting maximum points on the road.
