Declan Rice's goal in the 74th minute equalized Bruno Fernandes' opener in first-half stoppage time, but neither side was able to find a winner in a tense finish at Old Trafford.
While Arsenal still has a game in hand over the leaders, they now face an enormous challenge in their quest to win their first league title since 2004.
When asked if the title race was effectively over, Arteta responded: "I don't want to say that. The frustration today is that we didn't win the game. We are aware of the urgency, and we must win every match if we want to have a chance. I don't think it's the right time to discuss that."
Rice expressed determination, pledging that Arsenal would keep fighting until the very end. "As the manager said, we'll keep going until the season is over," the England international said.
"Liverpool have been outstanding all season. We're Arsenal. We've been hit hard by injuries, but we'll keep pushing, and we'll be fine."
Arteta's frustration was apparent when he abruptly ended his post-match media duties with Sky Sports after a question regarding the title race.
After responding to several queries, Arteta was asked if he regretted Arsenal's failure to sign a striker in January, to which he replied: "No, it's not about that," before starting to walk away.
The interviewer then requested one final question, which Arteta agreed to, but as the 15-point gap to Liverpool was mentioned, Arteta walked out of view.
