Banyana Banyana come from behind to beat Malawi in friendly international

Bayana Banyana were forced to come from behind to beat Malawi 2-1 in their friendly international played at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Tuesday.

The win means Desiree Ellis' charges completed a double victory over the same opponents following their 3-0 success on Saturday.

After goalless first half, it was the visitors who took a shock lead after the halftime interval when Vanessa Chikupira found the back of the net.

Banyana however hit back and levelled proceedings in the 75th minute when Malawi failed to properly clear a corner and Hilda Magaia pounced to bury her effort.

The home team then smelt blood and completed the comeback with three minutes of regulation time remaining when Amogelang Motau scored direct from a free-kick.

Nompumelelo Nyandeni started as captain for Banyana in what was her 150th and final appearance for the women's national football team while goalkeeper reached a half century of caps.
