The club also needs to register the contracts of young players, including Gavi and Ronald Araujo. To reduce the wage bill by around ¬180million, player sales are considered an effective tactic.
Journalist Veronica Brunati has revealed that the three players likely to depart are Ansu Fati, Franck Kessie, and Ferran Torres. In addition, Barcelona would be open to offers for Jordi Alba, Eric Garcia, and Raphinha.
Fati and Torres have had challenging seasons and have fallen down the pecking order. Although coach Xavi Hernandez continues to back them, it appears they will not be at the club come summer, despite their reluctance to leave. Fati has drawn interest from the Premier League, while Torres may be loaned out or used in a player-exchange deal as his sale is seen as complicated.
Kessie is also likely to leave, given the interest from Inter Milan, Juventus, and Tottenham Hotspur. Although he arrived at the club only last summer, he has not established himself as a starter. Xavi has reportedly given the green light for his departure this summer.
In addition, Barcelona may sell Alba, Raphinha, and Garcia. Alba's wages will rise to around ¬37million next season, which the club cannot afford to pay. However, the veteran left-back wants to see out his contract, which expires in 2024.
Raphinha has earned the trust of the manager, but his behaviour after being substituted has not gone down well with the club. Garcia's future depends on the offers he receives, but a sale could be granted if the club is offered a significant sum for the Spaniard.
It is essential for Barcelona to meet La Liga's Financial Fair Play targets to register new signings and young players going forward.
