The match began with a sharp display of attacking play from the home side. In the 11th minute, Ferran Torres opened the scoring with a composed first-touch finish from inside the six-yard box, expertly meeting Alejandro Balde's inviting cross. The quick goal set the tone for the rest of the match.
Just 10 minutes later, Dani Olmo doubled the lead with a well-taken penalty. Olmo had been fouled in the box by Osasuna's goalkeeper, Sergio Herrera, after a perfectly timed through ball from Pedri sent him clear. Herrera initially saved Olmo's first attempt, but the referee ordered a retake due to an Osasuna player encroaching in the box. Olmo made no mistake the second time, confidently placing the ball to the goalkeeper's right.
Barcelona's dominance continued throughout the match, despite missing several key players due to injury and the international break. Even without Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha in the starting lineup, Barcelona showed no signs of weakness. The visitors failed to register a single shot on target, as Barcelona controlled possession and dictated the pace of the game.
Lewandowski did eventually make his mark, heading in a cross from academy graduate FermÃn Lopez in the 77th minute to cap off the comfortable win. Barcelona had several other chances, including a near-miss from Torres, who struck the crossbar with a free kick in the first half.
With this win, Barcelona remain undefeated since December, marking them as the only top-five European league club to have yet to lose in 2025. They sit atop La Liga with 63 points after 28 games, three points ahead of second-placed Real Madrid, while Atlético Madrid trails in third with 56 points. There are still 10 matches left in the season.
"We treat every match as a final, and today we managed to get the job done swiftly and effectively. It's all about the three points and moving forward," said Torres after the game.
This match had been rescheduled from March 8 due to the sudden passing of Barcelona's club doctor, Carles Minarro Garcia. With a depleted squad, coach Hansi Flick still managed to orchestrate a comprehensive victory, keeping his side firmly on track for the title.
Osasuna, on the other hand, continue to struggle in mid-table, sitting in 14th place with little threat posed to Barcelona throughout the contest.
