According to Gerard Romero of Jijantes, the Blaugrana are looking to sign Amrabat on a loan deal until the end of the season, with no option to buy.
Despite being linked with top clubs like Liverpool and Atletico Madrid, with the latter being his preferred choice due to their playing style, Barcelona seems to be a departure from that path.
However, Romero has a good record in reporting on Barcelona transfers, and the news of the midfielder's potential move has been the talk of the town.
Amrabat was spotted at the Camp Nou recently, and rumours are swirling that the Catalan giants are trying to sign him on loan for the rest of the season, with a non-mandatory purchase option.
"I'm proud to be linked with top clubs like Barcelona and Atletico," Amrabat said in a recent interview with Marca. "But I'm a Fiorentina player, I respect the club and I have a great relationship with the president."
Currently playing in Serie A with Fiorentina and with a contract until 2024, Amrabat is a hot commodity in the transfer market after impressing in the World Cup semi-finals with Morocco.
