Bayer Leverkusen ready for Bayern Munich Showdown with full squad

Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso has provided an encouraging update ahead of Saturday's crucial top-of-the-table Bundesliga clash at Allianz Arena against Bayern Munich.

At a press conference on Friday, he confirmed that his squad was fully fit, including Exequiel Palacios, who has recovered from injury.

"Yes, all the players are ready. We have no injuries. Today is the last training session, and â˜Pala' can play from the start," Alonso stated confidently, setting an optimistic tone for the match.

The spotlight was also on young talent Florian Wirtz, who has enjoyed a sensational start to the season.

At just 21, Wirtz has been a pivotal figure for Leverkusen, showcasing remarkable growth in his game.

When asked about Wirtz's recent performances, Alonso remarked, "'Flo' has the desire to play even better this season and to show that he can still develop.

"For instance, against Wolfsburg, he was likely the best player on the pitch in a challenging situation. His hunger to improve is evident."

Alonso emphasised the importance of teamwork in supporting Wirtz's brilliance: "We need the best 'Flo' tomorrow.

"But I always say: We need to help 'Flo'. He can't do it on his own; the whole team must contribute to make him shine."
