The statue is a tribute to the footballing great that was Muller, and it was inaugurated by Bayern in partnership with the Kurt Landauer Foundation.
Proudly situated along the Allianz Arena walkway, this sculpture was crafted by the artist Karel Fron and funded through donations from Bayern supporters and its fan clubs.
Fashioned entirely from bronze, the statue captures Muller in the midst of a jubilant goal celebration - a sight he graced the fans with 568 times throughout his illustrious career.
"At FC Bayern you always have to preserve what was and what is. Gerd was an incredible player - and a great person who we will never forget," said former strike-partner, and honourary club president, Uli Hoeness.
"Today is a venerable day to remember him. He and Franz Beckenbauer are the icons 'that FC Bayern has produced'."
Muller's career was marked by numerous accolades, including four Bundesliga titles, four DFB Cup victories, and three European Cup triumphs with Bayern. Additionally, he achieved the status of a European and World champion while representing Germany.
"Gerd Muller was always a player who was particularly loved by the fans, who was one for everyone throughout his life: deeply down-to-earth, despite his extraordinary successes.
"It is therefore a wonderful sign that the fans are giving him a monument - Gerd Muller will forever be an inspiration for our club, across generations."
