City are trailing league leaders Liverpool by 16 points.
Last season, the Sky Blues became the first team in Premier League history to win four consecutive titles. However, this campaign has proven far more challenging, with the club suffering seven league defeats.
A particularly damaging run came in early November when City lost four consecutive matches to Bournemouth, Brighton, Tottenham Hotspur, and Liverpool.
Liverpool, now managed by Arne Slot, have been in dominant form, losing just one of their 25 league games this season. Their remarkable consistency has seen them establish a commanding lead at the top of the table.
The last team to finish above City in the Premier League was Liverpool in the 2019/20 season, and they appear poised to repeat that feat.
With the Premier League title now out of reach, Silva stated that City's focus has shifted to European success.
The club is currently preparing for the second leg of their Champions League play-off tie against Real Madrid, a competition they now see as their primary objective for the remainder of the season.
"Knowing the Premier League is done for us, our goal is a completely different one right now. We know that if we stay in this competition, anything can happen," Silva told TNT Sports.
"Of course the draw was not nice to play against Madrid, never easy, but we have the motivation of trying to do something in this competition, knowing it's a special competition and difficult one."
