This move comes as a new chapter in Haller's remarkable comeback journey.
The French striker, who joined Dortmund from Ajax in the summer of 2022, faced a major setback when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer shortly after his arrival.
Following two surgeries and multiple rounds of chemotherapy, Haller made his return to full training in January 2023. Since then, he has scored 12 goals in 41 appearances for Dortmund.
Sebastian Kehl, Borussia Dortmund's sporting director, reflected on Haller's challenging period, stating, "The story that connects us with Sebastien was, is and will always be special.
"Sebastien's cancer was a deep cut in his life and that of his family and friends. The entire BVB family was at his side during this difficult time.
"Personally, I will never forget how lucky I was to have him back in our midst in good health."
Kehl added, "Now it's important for Sebastien to play regularly again and feel the joy of celebrating goals as often as possible.
"He really wants to make the most of the opportunity he now has in La Liga, and we wish him every success."
