Carvalho spent last season out on loan at first RB Leipzig and then Hull, scoring nine goals in 20 Championship games for the latter.

Leicester earlier completed the loan signing of Facundo Buonanotte from Brighton.

The Seagulls revealed the 19-year-old attacking midfielder had signed a new four-year deal before confirming his season-long switch to the Foxes.

Buonanotte made 36 appearances for Brighton last season, scoring four times, and could feature for Steve Cooper's side in their Premier League opener against Tottenham on August 19.
