The matches are set to take place at Mbombela Stadium in July this year, with the Europeans using the games as part of their international pre-season tour.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FC Augsburg, Mike Stroll, expressed his delight in being part of the proceedings.

"I'm very proud to be here, in the province in South Africa, with TS Galaxy in this wonderful stadium, and we're really proud to be part of this tour," said Stroll.

"Because it's the first time we're going abroad, outside of Europe – we've never been to South Africa as a club, and we're amazed with the possibility of being here.

"Time [Sukazi] was great in all the talks we've had together, and you always need one person at least to make dreams come true, and I think this is also for us as a club, a very important step, and we're amazed to be here."

The German club’s CEO adds that for them the trip is more than just about football. Stroll says they want everyone to have an experience of a lifetime about South Africa as a country.

"It's not only about football – the pre-season is obviously important for us as a Bundesliga club, but it's also important to show the people that we're coming here and we want to learn about the culture, and everything South Africa is famous for," he added.

"We also want to interact with the community, which is important for us as well, and our players and staff, the head coach and everyone around the club will have an amazing time here and valuable moments and experiences in the country."
