September, who has taken over the Chippa reins following the abrupt departure of Kwanele Kopo in December over the non-renewal of his contract, is looking to reach the quarter-finals of the Ke Yona tournament for the first time as a head coach.
Having won the Nedbank Cup three times – along with other cup competitions – during his playing days with SuperSport United, the former centre-back is well aware of the opportunity presenting itself against a formidable side like Amakhosi.
"It's a cup game so it's a once-off game, so we need to approach it with the right mentality and make sure that we play well, and give our all in that 90 minutes," said September.
"We need to make sure we capitalise on the opportunities that we create, and be stubborn and also selfish in terms of conceding goals.
"So we have a good plan on what we need to do, and playing against a big team like Kaizer Chiefs is a great opportunity for these players to showcase their talent."
The 42-year-old tactician also confirmed a full bill of health ahead of the trip to FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.
"The team looks good, except Sergio [Kammies] who is suspended, but the rest of the team looks good, so we've got a good pool that we can select from against Chiefs," he added.
"So I think we just need to go out there and show the good talents that we have, express ourselves well and, besides the tactics, we need to come out of our shells and just play our football.
"We need to make sure we do the things that we need to do right, and that the players are playing to their strengths."
