It was only their second win of the season, which pulled them out of the relegation zone albeit with their rivals yet to play this weekend.
Malesela reacted to his side’s performance.
"Obviously pleased with the three points, pleased with the work rate of the players, not so pleased with the first half we looked like we were scared, we made too many errors. We played out of character in the first half, probably came back a little better in the second half. Where I thought now we are going to our football and maybe create more chances and stuff like that," Malesela said.
The Gallants coach didn’t mind that it was a scrappy affair with the goal coming from a penalty scored by Edgar Manaka.
"For sure our minds then went back and said, guys, we need three points three points, defend but sometimes when you are in our position you need to get them like this. You can't be picky and choosey and whatever, we are just happy with the work rate. We are grateful for the goal that we scored, grateful for the clean sheet," he added.
Malesela added that the victory was even more rewarding given SuperSport are usually a stubborn team to beat.
"Hopefully it's three points of many to come. It's not an easy side you know, SuperSport, it's not. I used to hate in my playing days when you start playing Wits, you play Hellenic and you know you are gonna have all these challenges, we play Highlands Park and I can imagine what the players went through."
