Dominic Isaacs urges Kaizer Chiefs patience as they target Mamelodi Sundowns

Former Kaizer Chiefs stalwart Dominic Isaacs has provided valuable insights ahead of the MTN8 semi-final second leg clash, suggesting that the AmaKhosi should exploit the absence of Mamelodi Sundowns' key players, Themba Zwane and Peter Shalulile, in two weeks.

In an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma, Isaacs commended Chiefs for their recent performance in the first leg, which ended in a 1-1 draw at FNB Stadium. He noted the team's evolving prowess and expressed optimism about their future.

Isaacs remarked, "I think they did very well against Mamelodi Sundowns in that game in the MTN8 first leg. They didn't give Sundowns the chance to play their game at all. They were just very unfortunate that, after leading, they conceded in the dying minutes.

"But as I have said, they closed Sundowns from penetrating their goal area. You have to plan around their danger men, and Chiefs did that very well in that game."

Highlighting the injury woes facing Sundowns, Isaacs added, "And Chiefs should take advantage that Sundowns don't have Peter Shalulile and that Themba Zwane is injured. That's an advantage to Chiefs, and they should use that."

Isaacs praised Coach Ntseki for establishing a consistent starting eleven, emphasizing its importance in achieving success. He drew parallels with legendary teams like the 70s and 80s Chiefs, Barcelona, Chelsea, and Manchester City, all of which thrived with stable line-ups.

"Look at the Stuart Baxter team. Or the Chiefs of the 70s and 80s. They had fixed line-ups, and that makes the team dangerous," Isaacs asserted. "Supporters must be patient. The coach is patient, and they should learn from him. Let's just give the coach a chance."
