The Glamour Boys signed the left back from their Soweto archrivals Orlando Pirates for an undisclosed fee in July as they ushered in a new era following the appointment of coach Nasreddine Nabi.
But Sam is yet to play an official match for Chiefs and is clearly not in the plans for the technical team.
The 27-year-old has been working tirelessly to break into the line-up and impress Nabi enough to finally make his debut. But he will now leave without being able to convince the Tunisian mentor to put him to the test.
Chiefs also currently have Bradely Cross and Happy Mashiane as left back and are also able to use Thatayaone Ditlhokwe and Rushwin Dortley in that position.
The public broadcaster can confirm that Chiefs have now concluded an agreement with Magesi for Sam to reunite with coach Owen da Gama in Polokwane.
It’s a move expected to then be reviewed at the end of the 2024/25 campaign to see what the future holds for Sam given that he spent the last few months recovering from an injury he suffered during a pre-season camp in Turkey and then trying to work his way to be available for selection.
Magesi, the Carling Knockout title holders, are currently rooted to the bottom of the Betway Premiership after 13 games and have been recruiting several players to reinforce the team for the second half of the season.
Sam will now join their squad until June as confirmed to SABC Sport.
