The game started with both teams struggling to find a rhythm, as robust challenges disrupted play.

Masandawana came close to scoring when Peter Shalulile's header missed narrowly. However, neither team managed to break the deadlock in the first half.
The second half saw a continuation of tough tackles from both sides, with the game becoming increasingly intense. Pirates suffered a setback when Miguel Timm was sent off in the 54th minute.
Sundowns capitalised on their numerical advantage, with Marcelo Allende breaking the deadlock in the 76th minute.
However, Pirates fought back and were awarded a penalty, which Tapelo Xoki converted to level the score at 1-1. Despite both teams pushing for a winner, the match ended in a stalemate.
With this result, Sundowns remain at the top of the league standings with 39 points, while Orlando Pirates maintain their fifth position with 26 points.
