Chiefs come into Saturday's clash against Chippa United under the dark cloud of having lost defender Luke Fleurs, who was tragically killed in a botched carjacking in Constantia Kloof, West of Johannesburg earlier this week.
The club has confirmed the players indicated their willingness to go ahead with this fixture in Fleurs’ honour.
Having failed to find the back of the net in their last 180 minutes of football, while managing only 19 goals in 22 league matches so far this season, Amakhosi's goal-scoring woes once again come under the spotlight against Chippa this afternoon.
Dove says his teammates have been working very hard at training to improve in the final third.
"I think everything is a process. Unfortunately, we haven't been scoring goals, but I think it's just a matter of our strikers keeping their heads cool and believing that the corner will turn," said Dove.
"Because they have been working extremely hard at training, and we see the effort that they put week-in and week-out.
"I mean, you don't go in front of the goalkeeper and just choose to miss, it's something that happens in football, and I'm hoping they can start banging goals."
During the recent Soweto Derby, Chiefs’ top goalscorer – with only five goals in all competitions – Ashley Du Preez proved with good supply in the right areas, he can deliver for the team, and the Mozambique international says these are the sort of strengths the team must capitalise on.
"Obviously, especially for a player like Ashley that found the back of the net [recently], it's important for us as defenders to keep motivating them and keep telling that it will come," he added.
"As I said, they've been working extremely hard – not only him but all our attacking players, so they can start scoring goals. I think that will help the team going forward."
