This extension marks one of the most substantial deals in Premier League history, ensuring the Norwegian striker's presence for another nine years.
This announcement came early Friday morning, with The Athletic breaking the news before Haaland himself stoked the fires of anticipation with a video on social media.
The clip showed him shirtless in the snow, captioned with the prophetic "Here to stay," alongside an official club photo with director of football, Txiki Begiristain.
Haaland expressed his joy about the long-term commitment, stating, "I am truly happy to have signed my new contract and look forward to spending even more time at this great club.
"Manchester City is a special club, full of fantastic people with incredible supporters, and it's the kind of environment that brings out the best in everyone," he said in the club's official media.
His prolific scoring record since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2022 has made him a pivotal figure for City.
The 24-year-old has already shattered numerous goal-scoring records, establishing himself as one of the Premier League's most feared forwards.
Gratitude was also a theme in Haaland's statements, where he thanked those around him for their support. "I also want to thank Pep, his coaching staff, my teammates, and everyone at the Club, as they have all helped me tremendously over the last few years.
"They've made this such a special place to be, and now I am City through and through. I want to keep developing, keep working to improve, and do my best to help us achieve more success in the future," he added.
Begiristain praised the extension, commenting, "Everyone at the club is absolutely delighted that Erling has signed his new contract. The length of this deal demonstrates our commitment to him as a player and his love for this club.
"He has already had an incredible impact during his time here, and his phenomenal numbers and records speak for themselves."
