Ferran Torres could be out for up to two months, adds to Barcelona's injury woes

Barcelona forward Ferran Torres has sustained a hamstring injury and could be sidelined for as much as up to two months, according to reports.

The 24-year-old is set to miss Spain's upcoming Nations League matches against Denmark on Saturday and Serbia next Tuesday, confirmed by national team coach Luis de la Fuente.

Reports suggest that Torres could be out for six to eight weeks after he sustained the injury during Barcelona's 3-0 victory over Alaves on Sunday, where he was forced to limp off just five minutes into the match.

"Tests conducted on Ferran Torres have revealed an injury to the biceps femoris muscle in his right thigh. His return to training will depend on his recovery," the Catalan club stated.

Barcelona are currently grappling with an injury crisis, with several players, including Dani Olmo, Gavi, Fermin Lopez, Andreas Christensen, Ronald Araujo, and goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, also on the sidelines.

"Ferran's injury is concerning. We have limited options in our attack," admitted Barcelona manager Hansi Flick on Sunday.

This season, Torres has made 10 appearances for Barcelona and has been a consistent starter, especially since Olmo suffered his own muscular injury during last month's match against Girona.

However, Olmo is expected to return after the international break. In the meantime, Ansu Fati and Pablo Torre may see increased playing time due to Torres' absence.
