Florian Wirtz commits to Bayer Leverkusen amidst European giants' interest

Bayer Leverkusen's CEO Fernando Carro has emphatically quashed any speculation surrounding Florian Wirtz's future at the club.

Carro confirms the young talent's commitment to the club despite fervent interest from European powerhouses like Real Madrid and Manchester City.

Wirtz's scintillating form has been pivotal for Leverkusen in what can only be described as a stellar campaign. With an unbeaten streak stretching across 39 games in all competitions, Leverkusen finds themselves perched comfortably 13 points clear of Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, tantalizingly close to clinching their inaugural title.

The allure of Leverkusen's success has inevitably attracted attention not only to their astute manager Xabi Alonso but also to standout performers like Wirtz, who, at just 20 years old, has become a linchpin in their squad.

Despite swirling transfer rumours, Alonso's recent commitment to remain at Leverkusen for another year has only reinforced the club's stability. Carro, in an interview with Spanish radio station Onda Cero, left no room for doubt, affirming, "He (Carro) will definitely stay here 100 percent this year."

"The fact that Xabi Alonso is staying is an added incentive," said Carro.

Wirtz's potential departure to Real Madrid or Manchester City seemed plausible in the summer transfer window, especially with potential exits looming for key players at those clubs.

However, Leverkusen's resolve, coupled with Wirtz's solid contributions - 11 goals and 17 assists in 37 games this season alone - has solidified his allegiance to the club.

With Leverkusen's rising star firmly committed, the footballing world eagerly anticipates the next chapter in Florian Wirtz's burgeoning career.
