Frederic Kanoute says Mohammed Kudus is "one of the most exciting African players around"

Frederic Kanoute has tipped Mohammed Kudus to scoop the Africa Player of the Year award. 

Kudus is currently shining for West Ham in the Premier League and has contributed with some important goals for his side.

Having joined the Hammers from Ajax this season the Ghanaian attacker currently has seven league goals, as well as seven from the Europa League and on League Cup goal.

He also shone for Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nation in the Ivory Coast, winning two Man of the Match awards.

Kanoute spent time at West Ham during his career, and was named Africa Player of the Year in 2007.

He has as been impressed by the way Kudus has adapted to English football and feels the 23-year-old could win the top award this season if he maintains his current form.

The former Mali international told the Irons Podcast: "He is really really talented. He has everything, he has strength, running forwards, he can play different positions. 

"Still quite young and I think he is one of the most exciting African players around these days. So yes, he definitely has a chance for me."

Kanoute scored and impressive 27 goals in 76 appearances for West Ham durnig a three-year stay.
