Ghana striker Ernest Nuamah makes Lyon move permanent after successful loan spell

Ghana international striker Ernest Nuamah has taken a big step forward in his career after permanently signing for Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Lyonnais on a four-year deal.

Having arrived on loan in the summer of 2023 from Belgian Pro League side RWD Molenbeek, the former member of Ghana's 'Right to Dream' academy has distinguished himself this season, making 33 appearances in all competitions and scoring 3 goals.

A dynamic, fast, hard-hitting striker, Nuamah - who made his name with Nordsjaelland in Denmark between January 2022 and August 2023 during which time he scored 20 goals in 49 appearances - was able to convince his coach and directors to extend his adventure at OL thanks to his performances.

The 20-year-old Ghana international, who has 11 caps for his country, is set to resume training on Monday 8 July.

Nuamah was a member of the Black Stars squad that was eliminated at the group stage of 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. He recently participated in the 2026 World Cup qualifier against Mali, scoring in a 2-1 triumph for Otto Addo's squad.
