The ex-Amakhosi player made only his second national team appearance away to Nigeria in a FIFA World Cup qualifier that ended 1-1 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
Ngezana’s move to Romania last season has paved the way for his national team call-up, and Msimango adds that it’s clear why.
"With Siya, I'm very close with him, I think the major thing that has changed is his mindset. I think his mentality has shifted dramatically for the good and playing in Europe as well has helped him, [it] has helped elevate his game," Msimango said.
Msimango, who joined Chiefs shortly after Ngezana moved on, applauds the 26-year-old for how he’s adjusted to playing in Europe.
"I don't think a lot has changed, even though when he was still here in the local league, he was under a lot of criticism for his performance but looking at him as a player now I'm really happy for him for the growth that he has made overcoming those challenges and going abroad, it's not easy," he added.
The Chiefs star rated Ngezana’s performance in Uyo.
"And coming back now and playing such a game against Nigeria which was not easy and he applied himself very well, stuck to the basics, defended well and helped the team get a result. So, I'm really happy for him and I hope he continues in the same vein."
