Harry Kane credits Thomas Tuchel for Bayern Munich move

Harry Kane, the 31-year-old sharpshooter, has heaped praise on Thomas Tuchel, revealing the former Bayern Munich boss played a pivotal role in his blockbuster move to the German giants.

Speaking at a recent England national team press conference, Kane didn't hold back on how Tuchel's influence shaped his decision.

"He was a massive factor in me joining Bayern Munich," Kane said. "I've always known what a top coach he is. He's got this energy, this passion when he talks, it's infectious. I had a cracking season under him last year."

Kane's seamless transition to life in Bavaria didn't surprise him. The striker, who smashed records in his debut Bundesliga campaign, put it down to self-belief and a helping hand from Tuchel.

"Wherever I play, I back myself to score and lift the team," he said. "I was chuffed with how I kicked off at Bayern. I didn't know what to expect when I arrived, but Thomas and (assistant) Anthony Barry got me settled in no time. It's just what I've done my whole career."

Tuchel, who guided Bayern Munich until May 2024, now leads England and has reunited with Kane on the international stage.

The pair's history clearly still resonates with the forward, who netted 44 goals in 45 games under Tuchel's watch in Munich.

Meanwhile, Tuchel, speaking ahead of England's next fixture, said on X: "Harry's a leader, his mentality is world-class." Kane's knack for finding the net, it seems, keeps following him, whether in Bavaria or beyond.
