The player earlier suffered a setback with his knee and was forced to undergo surgery, which ruled him out for more than a year as The Brazilians continued to recruit top talent while winning trophies.
Maboe has made 13 appearances in all competitions this season, in what he says is a sign he’s fit enough to be regularly considered for the remainder of the campaign.
"I'm a lot more confident than I was before, even before I got my surgery. I'm in a much better place now than I was before I got injured, even off the pitch as well," said Maboe.
"I'm in a good space and I believe in myself. I've got no doubts in the abilities I have, also knowing that we've got a lot of quality players in the team, and it's not going to be easy."
Maboe joined Sundowns in 2018 after finishing the previous season as top goal scorer for Maritzburg United, but his injury record has largely denied him the opportunity to be one of the most influential players to date.
But Downs have always trusted in his ability, he says.
"I think, firstly, I have to thank the club for, honestly, supporting and being with me throughout my toughest moments," he added.
"I mean, I've been out for like, I think, a year or so, but the club didn't throw me away, they kept me because they believe in me."
