Jose Riveiro revels in Orlando Pirates biggest win yet this season

The Buccaneers have now scored seven goals in their last two matches, while the latest win saw them move up to fourth on the log table, with 27 points from 17 matches.

Without going into details, Riveiro gave credit to the players as well as the entire technical team – in particular noting the efforts of newly appointed striker coach Scott Chickelday.

"We are so happy with the collective performance. I'm extremely happy with the week that we performed -- it was a long week with five training sessions before the game, every session was better than the previous, and the consequence was a full performance where we were very concentrated," Riveiro told the media.

"The players are surrounded by good people, we're trying to help them as much as possible from a subjective and professional perspective, and trying to help them as much as possible before, during and after the game, that's what makes us a very good team.

"And in that sense, again, we always... It's not normal, this is a scoring game, we are looking for goals and that's what people enjoy the most. I'm so happy to finally break that wall in the second half."

The goals came from Thabang Monare, captain Innocent Maela, Kermit Erasmus, and Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo. What pleased Riveiro the most was the variation of the goals from open play and set plays.

"I really trust in what we do, every single day. We really trust in the training process, now we really enjoy the fact that we have long weeks ahead of us -- we can train, prepare and then compete," he added.

"It's going to change in February again, and we need to be prepared for that and be consistent also in those types of [congested] weeks.

"I said to the guys that there are many players ready to be in the starting 11, so that makes things difficult and easy for me at the same time because there are many players prepared and to be starting 11 players in the right moment.

"Unfortunately we can only select 11 and then [use] five substitutes -- you see the way the players come from the bench, they are hungry and trying to contribute, whether they play 20 or 10 [minutes].

"So, it's what we're looking for, it's kind of a dream for a coach to have the chance to keep everybody involved, and that's going to be the key for us to find ourselves in the place where we want to be in the end of the season."
