Joshua Kimmich sidelined with tendonitis, aims for Stuttgart return

Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich has been diagnosed with tendonitis after picking up an injury during the club's 4-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday.

The 30-year-old, born in Rotweil, was substituted just before half-time, with Leon Goretzka replacing him in midfield.

Kimmich will take a short break over the next few days as he recovers, with the club aiming to have him fit for their Bundesliga clash against VfB Stuttgart on Friday.

However, Bayern are expected to be cautious with his return, given their crucial Champions League encounter against Bayer Leverkusen next week.

In his absence, Bayern have several options to partner Aleksandar Pavlovic in midfield.

Goretzka, who filled in against Frankfurt, is a natural choice, while João Palhinha is another alternative.

However, Palhinha has struggled with injuries this season and missed the Frankfurt match due to illness.

Despite this setback, there is positive news for Kimmich and Bayern fans, as the German international is reportedly close to extending his contract with the club.
