This summer has been marked by significant transitions at Borussia Dortmund. Along with the exits of Marco Reus and Mats Hummels, Edin Terzic resigned as head coach just two weeks after guiding the team to the UEFA Champions League final. The club quickly appointed Nuri Sahin as his successor.
Reflecting on the changes, Julian Brandt, who thrived under Terzic, shared his thoughts. "I was taken aback," Brandt stated (via WAZ). "But I respect his decision and am excited to work with Nuri. I have great respect for him."
Having spent five years at Borussia Dortmund, Brandt recently inherited the number ten shirt from Jadon Sancho. Over recent seasons, he has grown into a leadership role at the club and is ready to embrace more responsibility in the upcoming season.
"Leadership is something you develop over time. I view it as an opportunity to step up. It's a responsibility I take seriously, and Nuri Sahin expects that from me too. I always strive to give my best, and this season will be no different," Brandt said.
With his role as the number ten, Julian Brandt is set to be a key player for Borussia Dortmund's ambitions this season. His performance under Nuri Sahin will be one to watch.
