Speaking during the Kappa jersey launch in Johannesburg on Tuesday, Motaung earnestly requested unwavering backing from the passionate Amakhosi supporters, asking them to give the new coach a fair chance to reverse the club’s fortunes.
It has been a few seasons since the Soweto giants last secured any major trophies, and Ntseki has been entrusted with the vital task of restoring the club’s former glory.
"Well, hopefully with the changes that we've made, the acquisitions that we've made and the path that we undertook and the benefit that we are also getting from our youth development, I think we are on the right track and I think the coach just needs to be given a chance to do his job," Motaung said.
"As you are well aware when the announcement was made, the redeployment of the coach to the senior team brought a lot of mixed feelings from a lot of people but obviously, talk is cheap. It's easy to criticise but you can only criticise something that has gone through the test."
Motaung believes that Ntseki is facing unjust criticism even before taking up his role as the head coach of the Soweto Giants.
"Most of the coaches that we have brought here became successful because of the setup that we have at Kaizer Chiefs and we hope that Ntseki can be given that opportunity.
It is unfortunate that because of social media today people are at liberty to say anything, anyhow, anywhere because of the excitement of social media. The criticism against him has been really unfair because he hasn't even started doing anything with the team."
