Kaizer Chiefs host a team building session ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns clash

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi says their team building session at the Zwartkop Raceway in Centurion on Tuesday was very crucial ahead of their Betway Premiership clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The two teams lock horns less than 10km from that racetrack at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville in their third meeting this season.

Nabi says after the 4-1 drubbing they suffered against SuperSport United, they needed something special like this.

"Honestly, this is a big opportunity for myself because we got a very bad result in the last game and before the big game with Sundowns, we have Toyota offering the team this opportunity and team building days are very important,” Nabi said.

“You saw the faces of the players here today, they are very, very happy and this action helped us so much before the game of Sundowns.”

Through Chiefs’ sleeve sponsors, Toyota South Africa, the players got to race in the Zwartkop Racetrack and took turns racing in the sponsored cars.

The players had started their day with a training session at the Village in Naturena before making their way to Centurion, and right-back Reeve Frosler says this was a perfect way to unwind in the middle of their preparations for Sundowns.

"It's something different to what we're used to but it's very nice, it's something exciting, it's something that none of us are used to as players but yeah, it's something different and I think a lot of guys have enjoyed it or are enjoying it,” Frosler said.

“It's always nice to do teambuilding, something different with your teammates. An event like this is always nice for the team and I think it helps us going to the next game to be even closer together."
