Chiefs risk finishing an eighth season without silverware should they fail to beat Orlando Pirates and progress to a first cup final since 2019.
More so, with second spot on the DStv Premiership table – and subsequent qualification to the CAF Champions League, slipping from their grasp, the Nedbank Cup provides an opportunity to also qualify for next season CAF Confederation Cup.
As such, Zwane insists no further motivation is needed for the players to go out and fight for the victory in today's sold-out affair at FNB Stadium.
"The players know what is at stake. This is one game that doesn't need me, as a coach, to motivate them," Zwane told the media.
'"Kaizer Chiefs have won this cup 19 times [Editor's note: 13], and in one of them, I think I played against Orlando Pirates, as a player – that was in 2006, and we won it on penalties. And we'll definitely want to win it for the 20th time [sic]."
The 49-year-old tactician further stressed the value winning the Nedbank Cup would bring, not only to the players and technical team but also for the supporters and wider stakeholders of the club.
"That will be good for the team, and for the history of the club as well – more especially [for] the players that are new into the setup to finish the season on a high, since we had a difficult season," he added.
"It will also be very, very good for our supporters, and all the stakeholders or people that have been there through thick and thin, supporting the club, and it will also be a good build-up for next season."
