Indications are that the former junior international will not play a significant part in coach Nasreddine Nabi’s squad for the upcoming campaign and the Soweto giants are actively trying to find Radebe a new home.
The Chiefs youth graduate remains contracted to the club until June 2026, but after only making three cameo appearances last season – two under Molefi Ntseki and one with Cavin Johnson – there appears to be no room for Radebe in Naturena.
Radebe was one of the beneficiaries of Chiefs’ transfer window during the 2020/21 season, when a FIFA transfer ban forced the technical team – then led by Gavin Hunt – to rely heavily on academy players.
However, the 24-year-old has not been able to cement his place in the first team with competition for places with Yusuf Maart, Samkelo Zwane, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, and George Matlou stiff.
Chiefs have also added Gaston Sirino as one of their new recruits, while Njabulo Blom, who can play in both defence and midfield, has returned to the club on loan from Major League Soccer outfit St Louis City.
The public broadcaster understands Amakhosi are not yet offering to sell the player, but have asked a few clubs to take him on loan as they still view Radebe as a player for the future.
Chiefs begin their Betway Premiership campaign next weekend with an away fixture against Marumo Gallants, and the transfer window remains open until 20 September for any new faces and potential exits.
