Latest: Keagan Dolly to seal deal with next PSL club

The move is now merely down to finer details between the two parties being ironed out, with the 31-year-old expected to be a good fit for coach Gavin Hunt. 

Dolly officially became a free agent last week when his stint at Amakhosi was brought to an abrupt end, after he had joined the Soweto giants under similar circumstances, having left French Ligue 1 club Montpellier in July 2021. 

With Matsatsantsa in the market to beef up a squad that is mostly made up of young players, who endured a baptism of fire in juggling the CAF Confederation Cup and the DStv Premiership last season, the imminent arrival of Dolly guarantees rich experience. 

The player did not have to wait too long in the market after his contract with Amakhosi ended just last week, with SuperSport moving swiftly to enquire about his availability amidst interest abroad as well. 

SABC Sport understands the Tshwane outfit are working tirelessly behind the scenes to add quality depth to their team on the back of losing teenager Shandre Campbell to Club Brugge in Belgium, as well as Selaelo Rasebotja to local rivals Orlando Pirates. 

Hunt is also without first-choice goalkeeper Ricardo Goss, who has returned to parent club Mamelodi Sundowns following the end of his two-year loan spell. 

The pending arrival of Dolly to their roster suggests they are moving in the right direction, as chief scout Paul Matthews has also been spotted at the ongoing COSAFA Cup in Gqeberha, where he is searching for Africa’s next big star.
