The Italian winger, who joined from Juventus, impressed with his involvement in both of Liverpool's goals, signaling he could be set for more action in the Premier League.
Arne Slot, Liverpool's head coach, praised Chiesa's performance and readiness for more playing time. "Yeah, of course, he's ready for more minutes in the Premier League," Slot said.
"Because if he can play 90 at Champions League level, then you are able to play an amount of minutes in the Premier League."
He acknowledged the competition Chiesa faces, mentioning, "His main problem, if you want to call it a problem, is that he's in competition with Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, Mo Salah and Diogo Jota."
Despite the competition, Chiesa's versatility across the front line could see him utilized more frequently. His ability to cover the right wing, left wing, and even as a forward gives Slot options for rotation, especially with a busy schedule ahead.
Liverpool are set to face Bournemouth today, looking to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League.
The Reds have been boosted by the return of key players to training, including Joe Gomez, Diogo Jota, and Darwin Nunez, although their participation against Bournemouth remains uncertain. Curtis Jones, however, is still sidelined with a groin injury.
The match against Bournemouth is critical, especially with Arsenal facing Manchester City, offering Liverpool a chance to increase their lead at the summit if points are dropped at the Emirates.
Bournemouth have been in fine form, securing notable victories against Manchester United, Newcastle United, and even holding Chelsea while defeating Arsenal, Manchester City, and Tottenham at home.
Liverpool's recent Champions League outing allowed for squad rotation, with many first-team players rested. Cody Gakpo scored against his former club, PSV, in what was an entertaining, albeit losing, match for the Reds. This rotation could prove beneficial as they face a Bournemouth side that has shown they are capable of challenging the league's best.
The focus shifts to the Merseyside derby with Everton on February 12, but before that, Chiesa's impressive performance against PSV suggests he could be an integral part of Liverpool's quest to maintain their position at the top of the league.
